Maze And Haze

In the sprawling landscapes, under the canopy of ancient trees stretching toward the sky, a white wolf dashed across the earth. Its eyes, a mesmerizing shade of blue that seemed to hold the secrets of the deep ocean, blazed with determination. Coming to a sudden stop, the white wolf encountered a sight that gave pause even to its wild spirit - a majestic black wolf. This creature bore amber eyes, ablaze with fiery red hues that hinted at a fierce inner power.
As the white wolf's heart raced in its chest, a primal excitement coursed through its veins at the nearness of this enigmatic counterpart. In the distance, the haunting echoes of distant howls added an eerie backdrop to the silent confrontation unfurling before them. Amidst the stillness of the forest, a seductive scent wafted through the air - a tantalizing blend of sweet berries and golden honey. Enchanted by this aroma, the black wolf surged forward, drawn inexplicably toward the white wolf. With a swift movement, the black wolf pressed close, burying its muzzle into the white fur, the act a primal declaration of curiosity and connection.

"I came for you!", she conveyed in ways only they could understand.

"You did but took too long to come.", he complained. She licked him wanting to tell him she was sorry for being late.

"I wanted to come earlier but couldn't find my way until I finally did"

"You are here now, that is all that matters", the playfulness evident in his action as he sunk his canines into her neck tickling her. She pushed him away teasing him further.

"I want to be with you now, transcending the barriers and outvying the day and night", he pounced on her and tackled her to the ground, licking her further.

"Then come, be with me. Let us build our world, together", he offered and she agreed, covering him with her claws and holding him tight.

Her eyes slowly fluttered open, and she found herself not in the familiar forest but in the cozy confines of her room. The realization washed over her like a wave crashing on the shore - she had fainted right after leaving the safety of her house. Everything after that moment was a blur of darkness, until she found herself in a dreamlike state. In this mysterious dream, she encountered the black creature she had met in the depths of the forest during her recent camping trip. Its presence sent shivers down her spine, but there was a strange familiarity to it. However, the other creature in her dream was a total enigma, its features completely unrecognizable.

As she listened to their conversation, the words felt like whispers from her soul. It was as if the creatures were speaking a language only she could understand, weaving a tale of ancient mysteries and untold adventures. The connection she felt with the wolf she had encountered in the forest three nights prior deepened, adding layers of intrigue to the surreal moment that enveloped her in this dream world.

Her eyes followed the movements of her door opening when she heard the click of the knob followed the creaking and saw her father come with Ray, his friend, and her dearest uncle.

"You finally decided to wake up, Little one", Ray said, taking a seat beside her and checking her nerves. He tracked the thumping for a minute before signaling she was alright.

"Was I out for long?", she asked looking at the two males curiously.

"No, not much just some 10 hours"

"10 HOURS!", she gasped sitting upright. She felt it to be not more than an hour or two and it bewildered her. "What happened to her? Was she sick? Was she going to die?" Questions swarmed in her mind endlessly, with the positive answers being too fearful.

"Yes Beta! And you don't have to worry about anything. It was just exhaustion that caused that and some part of it was played by the late night movie session you often have", Ray informed giving her a wave of relief.

"Oh thank god!! I thought I was going to die soon", she blurted only to receive glares from her father.

"Dare you say that again SANA RAICHAND", there was a warning in his tone and she smiled sheepishly holding her hands up in the air.

"Cool down old man. I am not letting you go so quickly. You have to bear me for a long long time",

"That is better", Ray observed the heartfelt exchange between the father and daughter with a sense of admiration and longing, yearning for his sister to witness the remarkable transformation of her resilient daughter into a remarkable woman. Just like her mother before her, this young lady exuded strength, compassion, and a fearless determination to conquer any hurdle in her path. Her affection for Abhinav mirrored the deep love shared by Ambika, showcasing a profound bond that transcended generations.

"I wish Ambika was here", he craved. Abhinav looked at his brother, his friend and the longing he saw in his eyes for his sister was not much different from the longing he had in him for her, and in moments like this when he knew no way out of the situation he wished to cross all the realms that kept them apart and be together with her and their little one, their Sana, their little girl who held the world in her.

"She is here. I can feel it", Abhi comforted Ray who nodded patting Sana's head lovingly who was snuggled up to her father.

"The great Alpha, I pay my respect to you", the pack's respected elder, who was also their mentor, bowed as the leader of their pack entered the room he was sitting in.

"Greetings master," Alpha bowed in respect. He might be the leader but it was his mentor who stood before him and he was meant to bow before him.

"No Alpha, the leader is not supposed to bow before anyone", he stated. Alpha looked at him in confusion.

"But you are my mentor and respecting you is what I know and abide by"

"Yes you are and I agree with your words, but at this moment we are not meeting as mentor and student but as the elder of the pack, who has some help for you and a leader who has sought me, to assist him. I am mere assistance at this moment and thus the Alpha shouldn't bow before anyone. A student can and should", he taught him another lesson. Siddhant nodded grasping it taking their respective seats to discuss the matter at hand.

"Master, you know we have been attacked recently. Though it wasn't a full-fledged war, it was harmful to us. We have lost one member and many are injured and I am glad that they are recovering well. We were also able to get our hands on some members of other pack, but despite using the Alpha voice we have not got any results. It seems they are hypnotized. How do I resolve this?" he explained the problem at hand. The elder listened to him patiently and nodded once he was done.

"They are not hypnotized, they are telling you the truth Alpha. They are nothing but just mere pawns of your rival. They are told just this much and nothing more, and about Alpha's voice being unreactive, it is because it is the only truth and the voice is weakening them internally.", he explained. Being the man with the power of prophecy, his words were of great significance to the Alpha who nodded.

"So what we do now, master?"

"It is for the Alpha to decide. I can't and don't have the power to dictate the mighty Alpha. I am confident in you, that you will make a wise choice. Every person that you come across is connected to you Alpha. What you need to do and what connections you need to keep is solely up to you. But remember when you choose, choose wisely because it is these choices that can alter things for you. You might find it to be unusual but they are not. They are meant to be that way, all you need to do is just go deeper to understand what lay beneath for you.", the elder spelled out, and Alpha could sense how this was not just about people in the prison but beyond that and brought the memory of her. The girl he can't seem to shake off from his mind. Not because she was out of this world, but because of what she told him. He needed to know more about it, to come to any conclusion because he was sure of one thing, she was just a mere human. He was 100 percent sure of this.

"You might be thinking in the right direction Alpha, but what I can see is, you are not moving in that direction. Direct your steps to the path where you are thinking", the mentor guided, bowed, and left leaving the man to think about his words and then strain out his needs.

"Are you okay baby girl?", Meeti chirped happily pulling Sana by her shoulder and wrapping her arms around pretending to support her. When she missed college Meeti was quick to call her asking her the reason for her absence and hearing she fainted, Meeti had been calling her every two hours to ask if she was alright and she should rest and not attend the classes the next day but here they were in front of the college gates already.

"Oh, my dear friend I will definitely need the support of your strong arms to walk", Sana joined in, in the pretence with a laugh but her mood instantly soured as she heard that annoying voice ring in her ears.

"Oh is baby girl sick? I can support you better than your weak friend. Need my shoulder baby girl?", Aviral commented. Sana breathed in deeply and with a smile that was as sweet as the poison, she turned to him and stared at him making him shudder for a moment.

"Oh, Aviral. I surely need your shoulder...TO BREAK IT AND PULL IT APART FROM YOUR BODY", she warned with a smile on her face that infuriated Aviral to no end.

"You little piece of sh..."

"Stop right there Aviral. I am warning you, you say the next word and I swear you will never know how to speak again. And these are not just words, you know it well", Aviral was cut short in his words by her thundering words which made him move a step back. It was well known in the college, who to not mess with, because she was not just mere words, and definitely her feet and hand worked more than her tongue did. She was the icon for the alone and tortured and a nightmare for the bullies, Though she tried keeping herself away from the fights, it seemed like the fight followed her everywhere, especially Aviral.

"You...what do you think I will back off with your empty threats. Try me, baby, try me." though momentary shock persisted, he was quick to recover taking steps closer to her. He was a werewolf, who had decided to mingle with people to live the life they experience, and thus it was evident that many people followed him surrounding him like bees, just buzzing with what he said.

Sana's eyes darkened and she felt an immense and unprecedented surge of power in her. The blood rush she felt was unusual. Aviral was now in her personal space and college seemed to stop as everyone halted their work waiting for what was to follow.

"What now, scared baby girl?" Aviral tsked, teasing her. His hand raised to touch her but what followed confused Aviral.

"Dare you to touch me Aviral", her voice was authoritative and it was not just Aviral who felt it but many other werewolves and humans too, a need to surrender to her words, a need to bow to her and do as she orders. Aviral tried his best to move his hand but his hand seemed to defy him not moving any further. He was an Alpha in rank and there was supposedly no wolf that could order and definitely not a mere human. He was stunned, and terrified at how his body was reacting, falling on his knees before her.
